If you need a lightweight three layer sheet in a hurry, co-extruded is almost always the better option over single-layer. 3. Dimensional stability. Wood plastic composite materials can warp if the core and surface layers expand at different rates. Co-extrusion balances those layers better than adhesive lamination.   • Is the marble or wood grain printed in the cap, laminated, or a true co-extrusion? Layers can be deceiving.
  • What is the maximum width you can co-extrude? Many suppliers can only do narrow widths; that can affect your production yield.
  • What is your real minimum lead time? We quote 3–5 days for co-extruded sheets with stock cores. Anyone who quotes "24 hours" for a fully custom product is either overpromising or about to cut corners.

Rush premiums: a necessary evil

I have mixed feelings about rush premiums. As a buyer, they feel like gouging. As the person who has to scramble the production line, schedule a line changeover, and skip other orders, I understand them.
